Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has warned residents to expect dry taps from 6:00 a.m. Thursday until midnight.
In a statement, Managing Director Nahason Muguna said the interruption of water supply is due to a partial shutdown of the Ngethu Water Treatment Plant.
This will also pave way for scheduled maintenance at Ngethu Water Treatment Plant and the Ngethu Gigiri transmission mains.
Following this, the whole of City Centre, areas along Mombasa Road, University of Nairobi main campus, Coca Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, EPZ-Athi River and the whole of Industrial Area will be affected.
Those living along Juja road, Outer-ring road, Kangundo road, Thika road, Limuru road, Naivasha road and Kikuyu road will also be affected.
Regretting the inconvenience, Nairobi Water said other areas that will experience dry taps are those along Lavington, Kileleshwa, Kilimani, James Gichuru, Langata road, Waiyaki Way, Riverside and Westlands.
“We urge those in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the period of interruption,” Nairobi Water MD, Nahashon Muguna said.
