The commission has issued hotspots and unsuitable terms that are likely to cause friction during the election period.
Among the terms banned were sipangwingiwi and watajua hawajui, which were popular among politicians, particularly those aligned with Kenya kwanza.
In a ruling issued Thursday, the High Court in Nairobi dismissed NCIC’s decision to prohibit the use of the slang terms’sipangwingwi’ and ‘watajua hawajaui,’ claiming that due process was not followed.
This comes at a time when political tensions are high in the country and various lobbying groups and religious organizations are urging politicians to conduct their campaigns with dignity.
