Karua has sent a stern message to Igathe, threatening him with severe repercussions if he does not work for the people of Nairobi County.
Raila Odinga, according to Karua, will not hesitate to remove Igathe as governor if he fails to deliver for the people of Nairobi County.
“We want to see you working. And let me tell you if you fail to do that work Raila’s whip will land on you,” Karua stated.
She added that if Igathe fails to execute to the satisfaction of city residents, he will be held accountable.
“I have only one message to Igathe. If these people give you votes to be the governor of Nairobi we don’t want to come here and see litter all over,” Karua added.
The Azimio brigade pitched tents in Mathare, Lang’ata, and Embakasi on Sunday, where Raila urged supporters to embrace the ‘6-piece’ voting system.
This, he claims, will help him gain the support of leaders from counties to the national government.
Igathe unveiled his manifesto, dubbed ‘The Nairobi Tunavyoitaka Manifesto,’ last week.
According to the candidate, it was compiled after a rigorous ground campaign with running mate Phillip Kaloki.
Igathe has remained focused on his agenda, and he is confident that he will be successful in helping Nairobi residents with key business issues.
Igathe will face Kenya Kwanza’s Johnson Sakaja, who is his main opponent in the race to become Nairobi’s fourth governor.
