The Ministry of Health has announced that 106 people, out of a sample size of 2,057, tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours; translating to a 5.3% positivity rate.
Total confirmed cases are now at 336, 904 with 3,799,788 tests having been conducted so far.
The cases were distributed across various counties as follows: Nairobi (61), Kilifi (11), Siaya (10), Meru (7), Narok (4), Kiambu (3), Home Bay (2), Mombasa (2), Nakuru (2), Kajiado, kitui, Laikipia and Murang’a 1 case each.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said 204 patients have however recovered from the disease; all from the Home Based and Isolation Care Program.
Total recoveries now stand at 330,105; of which 276,672 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,433 are from health facilities.
No fatalities were recorded in the period under review, as such the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,668.
“There are 93 patients currently admitted in our health facilities, while 1,038 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. 3 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), all of whom are on ventilatory support,” said CS Kagwe said in a statement to newsrooms.
“Another 6 are in the General Wards and are all on supplemental oxygen. No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).”
A total of 16,115 vaccines were dispensed across the country in the last 24 hours while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the same period was 7,404.
