Chaos, tension, and physical confrontation erupted at the Bomas of Kenya where presidential results were being tallied and verified.
This came after party agents from both Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party and the Kenya Kwanza alliance engaged each other in a heated argument over alleged electoral malpractice.
During the melee, Raila Odinga’s chief agent walked to the main dais and used the commissioners’ address system to declare the national tallying center a “scene of crime.”
“I want to announce to the nation that Bomas of Kenya is a scene of crime,” shouted Kanchory before he was switched off by commissioner Francis Wanderi.
Police officers then swooped in and escorted Kanchory from the dais to the terraces where other agents were waiting.

For the last seven days, the national tallying center has been transformed into a theater of drama and fracas.
Earlier, a group of Azimio agents led by Homa Bay Governor-elect Gladys Wanga petitioned the commission to halt the verification process due to alleged irregularities and illegalities.
Wanga claimed that some of the documents submitted by Returning Officers were suspicious and needed to be thoroughly scrutinized.
She requested that the process be halted until Ultraviolet (UV) lights were brought in to assist with document verification.
“UV light. UV light. UV light,” she shouted as other leaders joined her.
On Friday, August 13, Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei, a Kenya Kwanza agent, clashed with Wanga and other Azimio agents over similar allegations.
The female representative was accused of frequently walking around with suspicious documents and gadgets, in violation of the commission’s regulations.
Wanga claimed the documents were forgeries of forms 34Bs containing constituency-level presidential results.
She also claimed that the outspoken lawmaker was collaborating with commission officials to change the results.
In her defense, Shollei stated that the documents she possessed contained the names of Kenya Kwanza agents who were authorized to work at the tallying center in rotation.
“I was taking the list to the security at the gate so they could confirm who were coming in and who were leaving, Azimio members have a similar list but they chose to cause drama. For the laptop we were allowed to have them and a flash disk because it is not possible to have all the physical form 34As at the tallying centre, they are over 46, 000 copies,” she said.
The commission also dispelled the claims and assured Kenyans that the process was open and transparent.
