Roots Party Summons Wamae For Disciplinary action

Wamae was also accused of repeatedly and maliciously misrepresenting the position of the party and that of the party leader, having blocked him and other party officials.

Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has summoned his running mate Justina Wamae for a disciplinary meeting for allegedly subverting the party’s constitution.

Wajackoyah argued in a notice dated Monday, August 22, and signed by the Party spokesperson that Justina had made disparaging remarks about the party, including claiming the former Presidential aspirant supported former Prime Minister.

Wamae was also accused of repeatedly and maliciously misrepresenting the position of the party and that of the party leader, having blocked him and other party officials.

As a result, she was summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee on August 26, 2022.

She was therefore summoned to appear before the committee for disciplinary action on August 26.

“The party would like to address you that you have continuously and maliciously misrepresented the position of the party and that of the party leader having blocked him and other party officials.

“That you have in your utterances contradicted yourself on Citizen Digital and the KTN and recounted the contradiction hence your allegiance to the party manifesto is questionable,” read the statement in part.

The party also claimed that in the two months Wamae has been a member, she has never bothered to read the party’s constitution or communication guidelines.

Wajackoyah also stated that he helped with accomodation and the official party vehicle during the campaign.

“Due to your continuous misrepresentation of the Party’s stand, the Party has suffered public ridicule and disrepute… It is in our knowledge that you have continuously disassociated yourself with the Party and its ideologies.

“In line with the above and your failure to adhere to the Roots Party Constitution and manifesto, the Party finds it in order, to invite you for a disciplinary hearing on August 26, 2022 at 2:30pm, at the Party’s head office,” continued the statement.

According to the party, Wamae has on many occasions shown indirect support for the William Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza coalition, a fact that contradicts the party’s stand.

“You also acknowledged our competitors’ victory through your sentiments quoted verbatim:- ‘H.E William Ruto and H.E Rigathi Gachagua are going to be our President and Deputy President respectively and I pray that our wonderful peaceful people of Kenya will accept the verdict. Congratulations H.E Ruto and H.E Rigathi on your victory. As the representative of the Kenyan Youth, I will support in any way I can to achieve a financially stable secure Kenya that is dignified across the globe.”

This comes a fortnight since the two unsuccessfully attempted to get the presidency ticket jointly.

The announcement comes just hours after Wamae told the press that she advised Wajackoyah not to sue over the Presidential election results.

“As it is, we haven’t had a meeting, because my boss had said that he is going to go to court. I spoke to him on phone and told him it wasn’t viable given that we hadn’t organised ourselves in terms of agent mobilisation.

“You cannot leave your gate open and still cry foul that your stuff has been stolen. So, we’re still thinking in these lines,” Wamae pointed out.
