Twitter has announced that it will begin incorporating podcasts into its platform as part of its newly designed ‘Spaces Tab,’ which has garnered popularity recently.
The social media company stated that it intends to enable users to listen to whole programs selected through playlists based on their interests.
The spaces tab will now open with ‘Stations,’ which are topic-based playlists that blend social audio events and recodings, similar to Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
The firm is currently testing the feature to random group of users worldwide.
Users who come across podcasts they like will be able to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down, to let Twitter know if the content is for their interest.
It will be available for both Android and iOS users.
“Integrating podcasts into Spaces, where audio conversations happen on Twitter, is another way we’re continuing to invest in audio creators,” Twitter said in the blog post.
“To do this in a simple and intuitive way that allows listeners to simply hit play and go, we started with a redesigned audio experience in the Spaces Tab.”
