Police Raid Kilimani Bars, Retrieve 35 Shisha Pots

Five clubs; Oyster Bar, Bar Next Door, Club 909, Kettle Bar, and Onex Bar were shut down as a result.

Police officers have arrested 25 people, including a manager, in a crackdown on noise pollution in Nairobi’s Kilimani clubs.

The raid was staged by officers from the Kibera police station and officials from the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA).

Five clubs; Oyster Bar, Bar Next Door, Club 909, Kettle Bar, and Onex Bar were shut down as a result.

35 pots of shisha have been confiscated and are currently being held as exhibits.

At the moment, the suspects are being detained at Central Police Station pending arraignment in court.

NEMA has renewed the fight against noise pollution, after frantic calls from the public. Pubs and entertainment joints have been accused of surpassing the regulatory limits that have caused sleepless nights to residents within Nairobi.

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has joined residents in the war against clubs that have been playing deafening music within the Kilimani area.

According to Kilimani residents associations, the clubs have made life in the posh estates unbearable.
