George Peter Kaluma, a member of parliament from Homa Bay Town, stated he would not be able to attend a church service in his hometown with President William Ruto.
Due to insufficient transportation, Kaluma stated in a statement that he would not be at the service.
“Just got information that President William Ruto will be in Homa Bay today. Welcome. I’m unable to be with you due to a lack of means. Let there be better coordination in future so that the MP whose Constituency you’re visiting has information and is available to receive you,” he tweeted.
He continued, saying that a lack of coordination and poor communication also caused him to miss the service.
Gladys Wanga, the governor of Homa Bay, earlier announced she wouldn’t be able to attend Sunday’s church service with President William Ruto in Homa Bay Town.
Ruto went to church on Sunday at the Africa Inland Church in Homa Bay.
After it was revealed he would attend church, regular prayer times had to be postponed.
