Amin Mohamed Ibrahim, the newly appointed DCI director, has assured Kenyans that he will lead the organization with professionalism and energy.
Mr. Amin, who formerly oversaw the Internal Affairs Unit, has promised to perform his duties with firmness and fairness.
He also pledged to ensure that the directorate upholds constitutional obligations and fundamental rights.
“I would like to make a commitment that I will operate the DCI in a professional manner, I will be stern and fair in the execution of my duties while ensuring that the Directorate complies to the constitutional requirements and fundamental freedoms.” Mr. Amin said.
Following George Kinoti’s departure, the National Police Service Commission had made a shortlist of 10 candidates to fill the job of Director of Criminal Investigations.
The Kenya School of Government, located in lower Kabete in Nairobi, conducted interviews with the 10 candidates on Tuesday, October 11.
Bernard Barasa Walumoli, Eliud Kipkoech Lagat, Gideon Nyale Munga, Esther Chepkosgei Seroney, and David Kipkosgey Birech were all on the short list for the position.
Others were Dr. Simon Mwangi Wanderi, Jonyo Michael Wiso, Nicholas Ireri Kamwende, Paul Jimmie Ndambuki, and others.
