Ruto Meets Environment Top Brass Over Ksh. 5B Forest Drive

President William Ruto met with environmental stakeholders on Monday to reach an agreement on the country’s expedited tree-growing plan.

This is part of the attempt to alleviate the harmful effects of climate change, which include Kenya’s current drought.

Kenya intends to achieve a 30% tree cover by 2032.

Kenya will seek partners in forest restoration and demonstrate its leadership in climate change during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Egypt next month.

President Ruto now chairs the African Heads of State and Government Committee on Climate Change.
