Uhuru Tours Nigeria, Graces Exquisite Ministerial Retreat

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta graced the opening ceremony of the 3rd Ministerial Performance Review Retreat at Nigeria’s Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The former head of state attended the two-day ministerial review, where he was expected to share his experience and the intrigues surrounding handing over power to his successor, President William Ruto.

At the conference, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari stated that he invited the former head of state to aid the Nigerian government with its transition.

Nigerians are expected to vote on February 25, 2023, with Buhari leaving office. Those vying to succeed Buhari include Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

“I am particularly delighted to welcome His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, the immediate former President of the Republic of Kenya and members of his delegation, and especially thank him for honouring our invitation to be the keynote speaker at this retreat.

“We look forward to hearing about your experience especially around the last months prior to the handover to your successor,” he stated.

This year’s retreat, themed ‘Enhance Security, Fight Corruption, Transform The Economy’, is meant to review Nigeria’s regime in the last one year.

This was his first official international trip after he handed over the instruments of power to President William Ruto.

The retired president recently skipped scheduled peace talks between Ethiopian Government and rebel group Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), citing conflicts in his schedule.

Over the weekend Uhuru was spotted in Maasai Mara on a game drive, presumably unwinding from the stressful election period.
