Miguna Vows To Lead Luo ‘Liberation’

He claimed that Raila's quest for power has harmed the region's economic, social, and cultural morals.

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has stated his intention to free the Luo-Nyanza region from the Odinga family’s political control.

Dr Miguna, speaking on NTV, made no apologies for his dislike and outright opposition to Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga, vowing to “liberate” the Luo-Nyanza political bloc and dethrone the Odingas, who have ruled Kenya since independence.

During the interview on Friday, Dr Miguna stated that the Odingas have dominated the region’s political scene for a long time and that his mission is to liberate Luo Nyanza.

He claims that residents of Nyanza have played an important role in the fight for democracy.

“In the past, schools in Luo Nyanza performed admirably. Kenyans recognized the Luos as a national symbol. They fought for democracy and the bill of rights before we had the new Constitution,” he said.

However, the exiled, who returned on October 20, accuses Mr Odinga of corrupting the values that the Nyanza voting bloc stood for.

“Without regard for personal or parochial interests…the only thing that Raila cares about is money and power,” he claimed.

He claimed that Raila’s quest for power has harmed the region’s economic, social, and cultural morals.

The lawyer feels obligated to right these wrongs for the sake of future generations.
