Drama As Thieves Attacked By Bees Voluntarily Surrender Stolen Cow To Police

A drama unfolded at Makutano police station after two men suspected of stealing livestock in Kirinyaga county voluntarily returned a cow.

The suspects reportedly walked into the station with the cow – while covered by a swarm of bees – and kept screaming as the bees ate them.

Immediately after learning of the incident at the police station on November 3, shocked officers called Lilian Waithera, who promptly arrived and positively identified her stolen cow.

Waithera claimed that she was horrified to discover her cow, which had been stolen two days earlier.

“This is my cow, and it was stolen two days ago,” she said after she found the cow tied to a tree at the station.

She claimed that after reporting the incident, she decided to contact a traditional medicine specialist from Busia, who agreed to help her find the stolen cow for a fee of Sh 10,000 after the work was completed.

The witchdoctor was later invited to the station to free the suspects from the spell and allow the police to conduct their investigations into the incident.

Immediately after doing so, bees swarmed into a bag he was carrying as the suspects were led into the police cells.

The area Assistant Chief Mr. Daniel Kiama Maina confirmed the incident identifying the suspects as Phillip Wekesa 32, and Mwamba Ili aged 25 years.

“I am told that the suspects had tried to sell the cow at the Makutano market, but did not find a buyer. That was before the bees shepherded them to the station where they surrendered the cow,” he said.

The two suspects are being held at the Makutano police station.
