A building under construction has collapsed in Ruaka, near Fortune Club area this morning.
According to preliminary reports from the St. John’s Ambulance team, a neighboring residential home was crushed beneath the six-storey block.
Rescue efforts are underway, and an emergency response team has arrived.
This comes just two days after the collapse of a seven-story building in the Kasarani neighborhood.
Several people have been rescued, according to a statement from the Kiambu County Government.
During his visit to the scene of the unfortunate incident, Kiambu County Governor Kimani Wamatangi led rescue efforts by a multi-agency team, including the County Fire and Disaster Response team.
