Two people have died on the spot while two others wwere injured in a matatu truck collision.
The accident involved a Toyota matatu that crashed into the rear of a truck lorry near Kanyoyo trading center on the Embu –Kanyonyo highway in Masinga Sub-county, Machakos County.
Masinga OCPD William Kiambi speaking to Uzalendo News said the overspeeding matatu registration KCT 916G was heading in the same direction as the Isuzu registration number KCR 080H to Matuu town from Embu town.
”There was a fatal accident along Embu-Kanyonyoo road in Masinga and a Toyota Matatu from NENO SACCO rammed the rear back of the lorry, leading to two people dying on the spot and two others got body injuries.”
The two bodies which have not been identified were taken to Matuu level 4 hospital morgue awaiting autopsy while the injured ones are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
The police boss has appealed to motorists to exercise extra care, be professional by following road rules to avoid accidents especially during the festive season.
”Drivers need to avoid overspeeding during this season to avoid loss of lives. This is an open road and motorists should drive carefully.”
