Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s 10-member cabinet will be vetted on Tuesday.
Nairobi clerk Edward Gichana announced on Saturday that the county executive nominees will be vetted by the appointment committee.
The vetting will take place at the county assembly from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
“In accordance with Sections 7(4) and 7(5) of the Public Appointments (County Assemblies) Approval Act, 2017, notice is hereby given to both the nominees and the general public of the resumption of approval hearings.”
“It will be carried out by the County Assembly’s Select Committee on Appointments in Charter Hall, County Assembly Wing, and City Hall Buildings,” the notice states.
The notice states that each nominee will be vetted for 45 minutes, beginning with Stephen Mwangi, who was nominated for Built Environment and Urban Planning.
Sakaja named Charles Kerich (Finance and Economic Planning), Brian Mulama (Talents, Skills, Development, and Care), and Patrick Mbogo (Mobility and Works) to the cabinet in October.
Ibrahim Auma (Administration and Personnel), Rosemary Kariuki (Hustlers and Business Opportunities), Maureen Njeri (Green Nairobi), Anastacia Mutethia (Health, Wellness, and Nutrition), and Susan Silantoi (Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service) will also be in charge.
The nominees will be required to appear before the committee with original copies of the required supporting documents, according to the clerk.
