A middle-aged lady was arraigned at Milimani law courts where she faced charges of stealing contrary to the law.
According to the charge sheet, on December 19,2022 at Naivas development house supermarket, along Moi Avenue, Ann Mwende stole one Fridali ladies slig, 4 Tawamu boys’ inner pants and one blue trouser from the said Supermarket all valued at Ksh 4,690.
Mwende however denied the charges telling the court that she was doing some shopping at the supermarket when she went to the customer care desk with the panties and other clothes, but the security officers followed her thinking she had stolen them.
Appearing before Hon. Wendy Micheni, she said that at the time of arrest she informed the security officers she was not leaving with the clothes before paying but her explanations fell on deaf ears.
The Court released her on a cash bail of Ksh 20,000 but ordered for a probation report with aim of lowering the bail.
