Sotik MP Warns County Official Over Illegal Brew Sales

The former commissioner accused police of accepting payments to protect illegal brewers.

Hon Francis Sigei, the present Sotik MP and former Nairobi Provincial Commissioner (PC), has issued an ultimatum to Bomet county commissioner to either battle illegal brew sales or face prosecution with his county security team.

Hon.Sigei stated that the county commissioner, Dr.Amhed Omar, and his security team are sleeping on the job in a fight against illegal brews, and that this should be their final warning if they want to enjoy their stay in Bomet.

“I’m on the national assembly security committee. My work will be to see those sabotaging the government on security matters including the use of drugs and illicit brews. We don’t want our children to be garbage”, added Sigei.

Simultaneously, he directed the commissioner to crack down on playstation machines at Chebole trade areas in Sotik constituency, which he said are hideouts for thieves, particularly drug peddlers.
