2022 Was A Difficult Year For Kenyans — Poll

50 percent of Kenyans believe 2022 was a bad year, 28 percent believe it was an average year, and 22 percent believe it was an amazing year.

The majority of Kenyans feel 2022 was a particularly difficult year due to high living costs, unemployment, and access to health care.

According to a new Infotrak poll, 50 percent of Kenyans believe 2022 was a bad year, 28 percent believe it was an average year, and 22 percent believe it was an amazing year.

Residents of the Western, Coast, Nyanza, and Nairobi areas rated 2022 as the worst year on record, while residents of the North Eastern and Coast regions rated it as an exceptional year.

The high cost of living was one of the primary concerns of worry for many Kenyans, with 52 percent of respondents urging the government to address it as a matter of importance.

Another reason Kenyans regarded 2022 as a negative year was the unemployment situation, which 42 percent of respondents wanted addressed.

Other factors that contributed to 2022 being a bad year for the majority of Kenyans, according to the survey, include corruption, insecurity, crime, and access to affordable quality services.

The study also shows that unemployment, high living costs, and access to healthcare remained the top three important problems of concern that did not alter between 2022 and 2021. 82 percent of respondents believe that the New Year in 2023 will be better than the one in 2022.

Only 11% believe 2023 will be the same as 2022, while only 7% believe 2023 will be worse than 2022.
