Raila: 2022 Was Difficult For Me

Raila Odinga, leader of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya, has called the year 2022 as difficult for him and the country.

Raila, who lost a close struggle to be the country’s President to his political adversary William Ruto of the United Democratic Alliance in the August general election, described how the country “had a hard 2022, with a highly contested election,” in his new year’s speech.

“We have come to the end of 2022. We that God that we are able to usher in 2023 in celebrations. As we celebrate it is also incumbent upon the nation to recalibrate. For one, we’ve had a difficult 2022,” he said

The former Prime Minister also discussed how the majority of Kenyans’ living conditions had become miserable as a result of the country’s terrible economic situation.

“Living conditions were made more trying by the difficult economic circumstances that prevailed and continue as we usher in the new year.”

Raila, on the other hand, expressed optimism that the new year 2023 will be better than the previous one, even as he hinted at increased activity in the political landscape, with him playing a big role.

“I look forward to a robust conversation on ways of how to improve our constitution and governance institutions,” he said

Raila Odinga lost the August 2022 elections to President William Ruto, a first-time presidential candidate. The major loss led to the SHAKING of the Azimio leadership, as sections of leaders defected to the government side.
