Two suspects Arrested in connection with the Nyamira Teacher murder, will be detained for 14 days to pave way for investigations.
Police in Nyamira have detained two persons in connection with the death of Ezekiel Nkeere, a primary school teacher who was killed mysteriously.
The two were arrested yesterday and arraigned in Nyamira High Court, where police requested to hold them for 14 days awaiting investigations.
The investigative officer’s motion for custody was allowed by the court.
Mr James Mitugo, the Nyamira County Police Commander, said the accused are from Nyamaiya centre, where a nurse involved in the incident is from.
He stated that the two suspects are cooperating with the investigations.
“One is an M-Pesa operator, and the other is a young man whose phone was used to withdraw money. “Money was transmitted to the young man via the deceased’s phone,” Mr Mitugo revealed.
On Sunday, the mutilated body of Mr Nkeere, the head teacher of Getengereirie Primary School in Nyamira County, was discovered at the house of the missing nurse.
The nurse, who authorities believe is the prime suspect in the 47-year-old teacher’s murder, is still at large.
