Kenyan police are investigating into the case in which two young Kenyans, including a form two student, were shot dead in Ethiopia as part of a series of criminal cases.
Kibish Deputy County Commissioner, Samuel Kiarie, confirmed the case and stated that the two were suspected of running a shady business selling motorcycles and mobile phones to locals in the Southern Ethiopian town of Omorate.
An angry mob reportedly descended on the two young men on Thursday, January 5, killing them on the spot.
The deceased men were also linked to a chain supplying stolen goods from Kenya and crossing over to sell in Ethiopia, according to the Sub-County boss.
According to Kiarie, Kenyan authorities were still unaware of the exact circumstances that led to the Kenyans’ deaths.
He did, however, assure that the bodies would be returned to Kenya for post-mortem examination.
Moreover, the administrator confirmed that his side was in talks with Ethiopian authorities to have another suspect arrested in connection with the theft repatriated back to Kenya.
