The Directorate of Criminal Investigation has now launched an investigation into alleged fake forms 34B that have been circulating on the internet.
In a letter, DCI boss Mohamed Amin stated that the investigations agency had received complaints about the alleged fake forms.
“The Directorate is investigating the validity and authenticity of the documents in question, in addition to whether offences relating to forgery and falsification of documents have been committed under Sections 345-348 of the Penal Code. Further, the Directorate will undertake investigations in relation to provisions of sections 22 and 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018,” the DCI said.
Amin stated that the complainants, whose identities he did not reveal, insist on various document manipulations.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga claimed the results were doctored and he has the originals.
They claimed that an IEBC whistleblower had provided them with evidence that Raila had won the election with about 2.2 million votes but had been rigged out.
According to the dossier, Raila received 8,170,355 votes, or 57.53 percent of the votes cast, compared to President William Ruto’s 5,915,973 votes (41.66 percent of votes cast).
