Embu governor Cecily Mbarireon Wednesday met a team from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), JXTE Construction Company, Mr. John Itumo, MCA for Mwea Ward and Officers from her county.
According to Mbarire, these are all stakeholders of the construction of the Kenol-Sagana-Marua improvement project: Dualling of the Kenol, Sagana (A2) road.
“Our deliberations have revolved around the benefits of this major project to our people including the social amenities that we are able to draw from the project to improve the social–economic welfare of the people around the project,” she said.
She also noted that footbridges, modern market sheds with sanitary facilities, access roads, boda boda sheds, tree planting in schools and forest blocks are among the benefits.
“We will continue engaging all stakeholders to ensure that such projects benefit the county by among others things, ensuring maximization of obligatory and CSR activities, maintenance of feeder roads and increased revenue collection for the county all to enhance the livelihoods of the people,” she added.
