Two In Viral M-Pesa Robbery Arraigned In Court

Two suspected robbers were arrested by police after being captured on CCTV camera raiding an M-Pesa shop in Mombasa while armed with an AK-47 rifle.

Festus Mutie Kaloki alias Kamwana and Peter Kilaa appeared in court in Mombasa on Friday for the February 13 incident that went viral on social media.

Detectives told the court that the two are being investigated in connection with a chain of violent robberies in Mombasa.

“Your honor, the two respondents are being investigated in connection with the alleged robbery. They were captured on CCTV camera and they are part of criminals terrorizing members of the Public in Kisauni. We pray for 21 days to finalize our investigations” the investigating officer told Court.

According to the police, the two are the suspects who were caught on CCTV last month robbing an M-Pesa shop in Kisauni’s Manoni area.

Senior Resident Magistrate Rita Orora ordered the two detained at the Bamburi police station for 21 days to allow the police to complete their investigations.
