A third-year Murang’a University of Technology student has died by suicide.
Samantha Nyawira, a tourism student, was discovered hanging in her Murang’a town rented house.
Nyawira was discovered dead in her home on Tuesday, April 18, at 1.20 a.m., according to a memo from the University’s Dean of Students Asige Chavumilu.
According to the deceased’s friend, she recently had an argument with her boyfriend, which resulted in a breakup.
Nyawira’s parents and those of her alleged boyfriend were summoned to the school on Tuesday and briefed on the incident.
The body was taken to Murang’a Level 5 Hospital mortuary by police, and burial arrangements are being made.
