President Ruto Appoints Ex-Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi To A State Job

    President William Ruto has appointed former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi to chair the National Oil Corporation of Kenya Board of Directors.

    According to a Gazette Notice dated April 20, 2023, Kiraitu will hold the position for three years.

    Former Tharaka Nithi Governor Samuel Ragwa has been appointed as the Chairperson of the National Cereals and Produce Board, and former Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

    Prof. Kimathi Mbogori Kigatiira has also been appointed as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute.

    Richard Cheruiyot and Godfrey Lemiso have been appointed for three years as Chairpersons of the Export Processing Zones Authority and the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, respectively.

    Former Presidential candidate David Mwaure Waihiga has been appointed to the National Environment Trust Fund’s Board of Trustees for a three-year term.

    At the same time, National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u has appointed lawyer Adrian Kamotho Njenga to chair the Capital Markets Tribunal for a three-year term.
