Kenya Offers To Send Police To Haiti

Kenya has offered to send a contingent of police officers to Haiti to aid the country in combatting a reign of terror imposed by marauding gangs on citizens.

“We reviewed Haiti’s situation where gangs have made towns & peoples’ lives unbearable. In this regard, Kenya has offered to send police officers to assist in stabilizing the country. Canada is one of the nations at the forefront in supporting Haiti’s process towards stability,” CS Mutua said on Twitter.

CS Mutua also stated that the Sudan problem was discussed on Saturday and that Kenya has offered to intervene between Sudan’s two warring factions.

At the same time, Mutua added that the Kenya-Canada relationship would allow Kenyans to work in Canada while also opening up mutual investment potential for both countries.

Haiti’s crisis scenario is deteriorating. A human rights organization in the country released numbers last week showing that kidnappings in the country had surged substantially in the first three months of the year.

Kidnapping is simply one aspect of a larger catastrophe that includes growing gang violence, food scarcity, a constitutional and law enforcement problem, and a Cholera outbreak.
