Chief Justice Martha Koome led the judiciary in mourning Justice (Rtd) Andrew Isaac Hayanga, who died on Friday.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, and pray that they may find comfort and strength during this difficult time,” she said.
In a statement, Koome said Hayanga worked hard as a High Court judge for many years.
“He was a distinguished jurist who delivered numerous judgements and rulings that enriched our country’s jurisprudence and contributed to the development of our legal system,” she stated.
Hayanga was an exemplary jurist and steadfast defender of justice, according to CJ Koome, who was known for his unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the protection of human rights.
