On Saturday morning, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua presented relief food to residents of Ndiara village in Wanjohi, Nyandarua County, who had been displaced from their homes due to heavy rains and flash floods.
Gachagua provided over 1,000 victims with a variety of items, including bags of rice, maize, beans, and maize flour.
He also donated blankets and iron sheets to help those affected rebuild their homes.
In addition, he presented them with planting seeds.
“We are reaching out to this community because of the destruction and humanitarian crisis that occurred as a result of the heavy rains. We must come to your rescue because it is our commitment,” said Gachagua.
