Healthcare services in six counties received a significant boost with the donation of emergency response vehicles by the Ministry of Health.

The fortunate recipients of these cars, which are anticipated to considerably improve the mobility of health-related activities and services, are the counties of Embu, Nyamira, Mandera, Elgeyo Marakwet, Bungoma, and Trans Nzoia.

The newest technologies essential to emergency response scenarios are included in the donated cars. With the use of this cutting-edge technology, healthcare professionals in the concerned counties will be able to respond to emergencies more quickly and effectively and help individuals in need.

The CS stated that the Ministry of Health remains dedicated to cooperating closely with the counties to guarantee the attainment of universal healthcare for all Kenyan people during the handover ceremony by the WHO Country Representative, Dr. Abdourahmane Diallo.

“The donation of these emergency response vehicles is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure across the country and improve access to quality healthcare services,” said CS Nakhumicha.

Undoubtedly, the donated cars will help the health services in these six counties become better overall.

Healthcare workers will be better able to handle crises, perform crucial services, and give vital care to the nearby populations with enhanced mobility and access to cutting-edge technologies.

Dr. Abdourahmane Diallo, the WHO Country Representative, also emphasised the importance of the trucks in enhancing emergency response across the nation. They will be critical in handling public health crises and providing prompt healthcare services because they are outfitted with cutting-edge technology and necessary supplies, he said.

It is anticipated that more initiatives and partnerships will be launched to further improve healthcare delivery and emergency response capacities across the country as the partnership between the Ministry of Health and the counties continues to thrive.

“The Ministry of Health remains dedicated to supporting the counties in their efforts to provide universal healthcare for all, ultimately leading to a healthier and more prosperous Kenya,” the CS said.

The PS of Public Health and Professional Standards, Dr.Josephine Mburu, was among the dignitaries in attendance. Among others, Eng Peter Tum, PS of Medical Services, H.E. Wisley Rotich (Governor, Elgeyo Marakwet), H.E. Amos Nyaribo (Governor, Nyamira), and H.E. Justus Kinywa Mugo(Deputy Governor, Embu), to name a few.

They served as a visual representation of the joint efforts made by the federal, state, and local governments to improve healthcare delivery and emergency response capacities.
