The State has invited members of the public to view the body of freedom veteran Mukami Kimathi on Saturday, May 13, at the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
The viewing will take place from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., according to Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo, who is also the chairperson of the National Organising Committee in charge of the burial arrangements.
The burial will be held on the same day at her rural home in Njabini, Nyandarua County.
“The National Organizing Committee, which is steering the funeral arrangements, hereby notifies wananchi that there will be a public viewing of the body on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Lee Funeral Home, Nairobi from 6 am to 7 am,” Omollo said.
PS Omollo also stated that condolence books are available for anyone who wishes to pay tribute to the late Mukami.
“Those who wish to pay tribute can sign condolence books at Mukami’s home in Njabini and Harambee House, Nairobi,” Omollo added.
Mukami Kimathi died aged 96 while receiving treatment at a hospital in Nairobi after developing breathing difficulties.
She passed away on Thursday night, May 4, 2023.
