Ministry of Health and KMPDU Hold Meeting to Address Salary Payments and PostingĀ
Along with the committed medical interns, Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists Dentists Union (KMPDU) secretary general Davji Bhimji Atellah, and the Ministry of Health met productively to discuss urgent issues relating to posting and salary arrears.
The Ministry has taken swift action to make sure that the medical interns’ May salary have been paid out as promised. Additionally, an agreement has been made between the Ministry of Health and KMPDU about the payment of arrears.
The forthcoming pay stub for June will include the May arrears due to both current and former interns.
Moreover, beginning of July 1st, all remaining interns will be properly posted. Dr Davji expressed appreciation for the medical interns’ continuous commitment and activism saying that they had achieved the positive results thanks to their cooperation and perseverance.
“Their voices were heard, and the impact of their collective efforts is evident in the solutions we have reached,” he said
He added, “This accomplishment serves as a testament to the power of collective action and dialogue in achieving positive.”
