President William Ruto has praised the truce and halt of hostilities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s eastern region.
He stated that great progress had been made in the last two months, allowing the country to return to normalcy.
He mentioned that a civilian officer would be selected to help protect the East African Regional Force from political and public affairs issues.
“This will enhance peace and security in the region,” he said.
He made the remarks during the 21st Extraordinary Summit of the East African Community (EAC) Heads of State in Bujumbura, Burundi, on Wednesday.
