Nairobi: Police Arrest Suspects Repackaging Subsidized Gov’t Fertiliser, Relief Food

Police have arrested suspects repackaging fertiliser meant for subsidy by the government along Nanyuki road in Nairobi.

According to the Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei, the police seized 50, 000 bags of subsidised fertilizer as well as 1360 bags of rice and 200 bags of maize that were in the process of being repackaged.

During a raid at a godown where the operations were being carried out, the police discovered that the team was also repackaging relief food to Indian brands.

He added that DCI officers in collaboration with police officers are investigating the matter.

Four workers have been arrested and are expected to be arraigned in court once the investigations are done.
