The Sabatia Eye Training Centre and Paediatric Ophthalmology Centre have been officially opened at the Sabatia Eye Hospital.
The main goal of the Paediatric Ophthalmology Centre is to make eye care services for kids in Western Kenya and the neighbouring areas easily accessible and inexpensive.
The facility has been specifically created to establish a secure and kid-friendly environment, ensuring that young patients feel at ease and comfortable during their appointments.
In addition to the Paediatric Ophthalmology Centre, the Sabatia Eye Training Centre was founded to address the problem of blindness in Kenya by educating more eye professionals.

Nakhumicha S. Wafula, Cabinet Secretary for Health, and Prime Cabinet Secretary H.E. Musalia Mudavadi graced the occasion.
Nakhumicha said the government will be rolling out programmes to ensure Universal Healthcare dream is achieved.
She further stated that community health volunteers as the country shifts from curative to preventative health care.
“As a ministry, we are shifting our focus from curative care to preventive and promotive healthcare. To achieve this goal, we are proud to announce we will be launching over 100,000 community health promoters.”
