Migori: Mob Lynches Two Robbery Suspects

An enraged mob lynched two suspected robbers on Thursday morning in Migori town, Kuria West sub-county, Migori County.

According to reports, the two unidentified suspects allegedly attacked a bodaboda rider on Wednesday night, attempting to steal his motorbike and other valuables.

Suna West sub-county police commander Elizabeth Wakuloba described the nighttime ordeal, saying one of the deceased hired a bodaboda rider in Migori town to ferry him to an unknown destination, but once there, he turned against the rider and his accomplice who was nearby.

Wakuloba added that the robbery attempt was thwarted when nearby residents responded to the victim’s yells.

The suspects then attempted to flee, but their freedom was short-lived as the pursuing mob apprehended and attacked them.

The rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to Migori level four hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a new investigation has been launched into the matter, and Walukoba has urged residents to avoid taking the law into their own hands.
