Ibrahim Matola, and the CSEnergy and Petroleum, Davis Chirchir, took place on the margins of the ongoing Africa Energy Forum.

The topics of geothermal exploration were well-discussed.

Malawi is eager to expand its use of energy beyond its capability for producing it through hydropower and is interested in studying and utilising Kenya's experience in geothermal exploration and production.

In the spirit of the pan-African spirit promoted by His Excellency the President William Ruto, Kenya would share with our Malawian brothers its experience and great success in geothermal power exploration through Geothermal Development Company (GDC).

Kenya is now Africa's largest geothermal power producer and ranks sixth globally, with intentions to increase this further in the upcoming years. Kenya has successfully generated 950 MW of hydropower.

The two countries' cooperation in the energy sector embodied the genuine spirit of the Africa Energy Forum 2024.

The most trustworthy base load is geothermal electricity since it is dependable, reasonably priced, and constantly available.

The pan-African agenda will be solidified by the successes of African-led initiatives in Kenya and Malawi.
