Mudavadi Rebukes MPs Who Opposed The Finance Bill

Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary, has chastised MPs who voted against the Finance Bill, 2023.

Mudavadi stated that nearly Sh600 billion has been set out for education in the Budget, the highest single allocation of resources by President William Ruto.

“A cohort of 30,000 teachers has been budgeted for.” This is done to minimize the teacher-to-student ratio. This is a huge advancement. Why did you vote against it?” he inquired.

Mudavadi stated at a church service in Kajiado that Ruto’s housing initiative is not a stand-alone endeavor.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary went on to say that the President’s proposal is about more than just housing.

Ruto has defended the Housing Fund idea in the Finance Bill 2023, despite widespread opposition.

Ruto has stated that he hopes to boost the number of homeowners and convert more Kenyans from rent-paying to owning with the idea.

MPs approved President Ruto’s proposed Finance Bill for 2023 on Wednesday night. It will now be sent to the president for his approval in order for the plans to become law.

The Bill was enacted despite a heated dispute between the opposition and the ruling party over several of its provisions.
