An officer from the Kimala police station in Taveta, Taita Taveta County, died on Thursday morning after being shot by a colleague.
The suspect is said to have shot his colleague four times, his motive unknown.
Following the shooting, the officer turned the gun on himself, inflicting serious injuries on his body.
The officer is being treated at the Taveta Sub-county Hospital while police investigate the incident.
