The government is keen on supporting the growth of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) in the country as a way of creating employment, lowering poverty and increasing inclusivity said Information, Communication and the Digital Economy PS John Tanui.
According to Tanui, Kenya has numerous qualities that will make it the preferred location for BPOs in Africa in the future, including a young workforce, a high command of the English language, great internet access and penetration, and an excellent management ecosystem.
PS Tanui gave a speech while touring Samasource, a business process outsourcing firm with more than 6,000 employees that is based in Kenya.

The business process outsourcing (BPO) market in Kenya is one of the largest in East Africa and is a growing destination.
A young, highly educated workforce and an environment that supports tech-enabled services are what drive Kenya’s BPO industry, especially in Nairobi.
To ensure that the BPO industry, which offers multiple benefits, continues to grow and expand, the Kenyan government is intensely focused on the continuing skills development of its BPO labour force.
