Peninah Malonza, the cabinet secretary for tourism, wildlife, and heritage, hosted a consultative media round table this morning to discuss ways to improve cooperation with the media to promote tourism, wildlife, and heritage in Kenya.
The talks were held with the intention of enhancing the Ministry’s and media’s cooperation in tourism promotion.
In her speech, CS Malonza emphasised the media’s crucial role in promoting Kenya’s unparalleled attractiveness to audiences around the world.
She acknowledged their impact on how people perceive things and make travel decisions.
“With Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) at the heart of the Kenya Kwanza Government, we are looking into nurturing Kenya’s tourism ecosystem, diversifying Kenya’s tourism products, and diversifying our source markets,” said Malonza.
She added, “”The role the media can play in profiling Magical Kenya is: destination promotion, positive storytelling of the country, unbiased reporting, covering and highlighting the Ministry’s events, among many others.”
