Renowned Mugiithi artist Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, has released a poignant new track titled “Wendo Witu” (Our Love), seemingly aimed at seeking forgiveness from his estranged wife, Edday Nderitu.
Collaborating with singer Joyce Wa Mama, the father of five expresses heartfelt remorse for his role in their marital breakdown.
Edday Nderitu, who left their marriage and relocated to the US with their three children, is the focal point of Samidoh’s emotional plea. Through the four-minute song, he openly acknowledges his mistakes and expresses a deep desire to rectify them, admitting,
“I am the cause of our separation, and it is sad that you left with all the future plans we had together. Our love comes from far and therefore it can withstand any challenge.” He beseeches for forgiveness, comparing his actions to that of a repentant thief, and emphasizes the enduring strength of their love.
“Those mistakes that I did and you dumped me, I know I am the one who brought issues but when a thief apologizes, he is forgiven, my darling.”
The track further reflects Samidoh’s commitment to repairing their relationship, recalling the promises he made to Edday’s parents. He implores her to return, reaffirming his dedication to being her partner and protector, particularly as parents to their children.
“You know very well I took you from your parents and promised them that I would forever take care of you. I am requesting you to come back so we can raise our children.”
The backdrop to Edday Nderitu’s departure was Samidoh’s connection with nominated senator Karen Nyamu, a relationship that garnered significant attention. Through “Wendo Witu,” Samidoh bares his soul, seeking reconciliation and renewal in the face of their well-documented trials.
