This comes only weeks after TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew vowed to collaborate with Kenyan authorities to control content on its network.

Shou made the pledge during talks with President William Ruto on Thursday.

He has also agreed to have TikTok open an office in Nairobi to coordinate its regional operations.

According to State House officials, the CEO also promised to hire more Kenyans to work for the platform, citing Kenya as one of the most active countries on the network.

According to Moses Wetangula, Speaker of the National Assembly, the appeal by Ndolo claims sexual content and a loss of privacy, among other things.
The petitioner claims that the Communications Authority of Kenya does not control internet applications in Kenya, resulting in the failure to remove or prohibit offending content.
