A somber mood engulfed Jerusalem village of Tendwet area in Narok county when the sad news broke that one of their own had died due to injuries inflicted by her own father.
Naomi Chelangat, a sixteen-year-old form two student at Sagamian Secondary School, is said to have been beaten to death by his father, who is currently in custody.
According to police records, the perpetrator, Isaiah Kibet Sawe, the deceased’s father, took her to Longisa Referral Hospital where she died.
The man is suspected of committing the crime after a disagreement with his wife, the deceased’s mother.
Investigators are finalising their findings in order to charge the father in court for the murder. The deceased body is lying at Longisa Sub-county Hospital pending autopsy.
