We Were Just Resting: Police Deny Governor Arati Office ‘Raid’

Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kases has denied the Monday am raid on Governor Simba Arati’s office at Gusii Stadium.

Mr Kases told the Nation over the phone that GSU officers were patrolling the area and opted to rest at the stadium.

He denied that a raid had occurred, claiming that the stadium was a public space and that it was common for officers to patrol the area, claiming that they had the right to be wherever.

Mr Kases went on to say that he was not aware of the reported warning given by National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro to deploy extra cops in Kisii.

Following last week’s raid, Mr Osoro allegedly warned that more police will be sent to combat hooliganism.
