Absa Bank Employee Charged Of Stealing Over Ksh 3 Million

Absa Bank employee finds himself on a conflicting side with the law after being accused of stealing millions of money from the said bank.

Evance Onyango Ogolla an employee of Absa Bank was arraigned in Court today facing charges of stealing Ksh 3,389,000 the property of Absa Bank Limited.

According to the prosecution, the accused employee conspired with other people yet to be arrested to steal the said money on diverse dates between November 17 and 20, 2023.

He also faced another charge of stealing by servant where the prosecution alleged that he on the said dates at Absa bank head office in Nairobi, being a digital credit analyst to the bank stole Ksh 1,627,069 from the bank, money which came to his possession by virtue of his employment.

Appearing before Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi at Milimani Law courts, the accused denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh 1 million with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 500,000.
