A Kenyan businesswoman named Sumayya Mohamud Abdi was robbed of approximately KSh 9.4 million (₹66.45 lakh) by two individuals posing as police officers in Mumbai, India.

The robbery occurred in broad daylight outside the Alana Centre building on Mahatma Gandhi Road while Sumayya and a friend were returning to their hotel in a taxi.
Two men on a motorcycle, wearing helmets and masks, intercepted the taxi and presented false police identification. They claimed they needed to search her bags for “illegal currency.”
After seizing her bags containing the cash, the imposters instructed her to report to the nearest police station to claim them before speeding away.
Upon reaching the MRA Marg police station, the victim learned no such officers existed. Mumbai police have since launched a manhunt and are reviewing CCTV footage along the route to identify the suspects.
