A security officer in Kericho butchered in cold blood

A middle-aged man working as a security officer in Kericho County has been killed and his body dumped at the Unilever Tea Estates.

The County Criminal Investigations Officer, John Onyango, said the body of the 39-year-old guard with KKK Security Company was found Thursday morning by workers picking tea at the Unilever Tea Estates.

Onyango said police officers visited the scene after the company’s chief security officer alerted his office that the body of one of their guards, who was off-duty at the time of the incident, had been found dumped at the company’s property.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the guard died from a single stab wound which penetrated from the shoulder into the heart,” said Mr Onyango.

Police officers attached to the Kericho County Police Station have since launched investigations into the matter and called on the residents to give any information that could see the culprits brought to book.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Kericho County Referral Hospital where autopsy is expected to be done to ascertain the cause of his death.
